In the post-war wake of the battle of Penfold (Easton and P'Burg's most famous nomadic-attic band,) Mike Buozis and Graham Osborne found that it was imperative for them to be in some form of a band. Things were rough, and a Penfold reunion tour was almost scheduled. However, due to personal abrasions and the friction of distance, this proved impossible. It looked like the end of good Easton music as we knew it.
But, these valiant musicians would not be thrown from there melodious and harmonious course. Instead, the three original members of the band decided to start fresh. They cleaned the proverbial slate and finally pulled together over Thanksgiving break to go to the Osborne attic and just jam. And it was good. The three then went for a walk during which they decided on the name "Nero." This was later modified to "lil' Nero."
Yet, it still seemed that something was missing. The music needed more. So, they began auditioning guitarists, and thus "The Tale of the Three Matts" begins.
First to enter the hallowed stairway of the attic was Matt Markle, of Sunday Night Special fame. Markle was good, but perhaps not quite the sound for which the band was looking. The next option for the group was Matt D'Gira. . .DeGiaro. . . let's just call him "Matt D," former guitarist for Supernaut. Matt D was also quite accomplished, but simply didn't fit in with the music so well. Finally, Mrs. Osborne recommended EAHS Jazz Band Pianist/Keyboardist, Matt Traldi. He joined the group for a jam session in early December, and Mike, Graham, and Owen knew they had something.
They had lil' Nero.
The band made its live debut at the EAHS talent show, and I'll bet you wish you were there.
